The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "Allah, I seek refuge in You from hunger, for it is a wretched companion in sleep, and I seek refuge in You from treachery, for it is a wretched inner trait."
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقول: اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الجوع فإنه بئس الضجيع، وأعوذ بك من الخيانة فإنها بئست البطانة.
Reported by Abu Dawud (1547), Nasai (5468), and Ibn Hibban (1029), all of them through Abdullah bin Idris, from Ibn Ajlan, from Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Ibn Ajlan, whose name is Muhammad, for his narrations are hasan.
