The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whomever Allah wishes good for, He grants him understanding of the religion."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من يرد الله به خيرا يفقه في الدين.
Tirmidhi (2645) narrated it from Ali bin Hajar, who said, Ismail bin Jafar narrated to us, Abdullah bin Saeed bin Abu Hind narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith." And it is as he said, for all its narrators are trustworthy and well known. As for Abdullah bin Saeed bin Abu Hind, Imam Ahmad said, "Trustworthy, trustworthy." And in another narration, "Trustworthy and dependable." Ibn Main, Ibn Madini, Yaqub Fasawi, and others also declared him trustworthy. The two Shaykhs and others among the authors of the six foundational books used him as evidence. So the correct view is that he is trustworthy, and this hadith of his was also recorded by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad (2790) through this same route.
