The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Once a man was driving along a cow upon which he had loaded a burden, and the cow turned to him and said, 'I was not created for this. I was only created for plowing.'"The people exclaimed in astonishment and alarm, "Glory be to Allah! A cow that speaks?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, I believe in this, and so do Abu Bakr and Umar."
Bukhari narrated it in the Virtues of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ (3663), and Muslim in the Virtues of the Companions (2388), both through Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, from Abu Hurairah, who related it. Muslim paired Abu Salama with Saeed bin Musayab, and the wording given here is his.
