Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ retired to his bed, he would blow into his palms while reciting "Say, He is Allah, the One" [Ikhlas 112:1] along with the two surahs of refuge, then wipe his face and whatever his hands could reach of his body.Ayesha said, "When he fell ill, he would instruct me to do that for him."
Bukhari narrated it in Tibb (5748), from Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah Uwaysi, from Sulayman, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwa bin Zubayr, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.He added at the end that Yunus said, "I used to see Ibn Shihab do that when he went to his bed."
