From his father, that the Prophet ﷺ, whenever he returned from a journey, would say, "We return, repentant, worshipping our Lord, praising Him."
عن أبيه أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا قدم من سفر قال: آيبون تائبون عابدون لربنا حامدون.
Narrated by Tirmidhi (3440), Ahmad (18476), and Nasai in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (550), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (2711), all of them through various routes from Shubah, from Abu Ishaq, who said, "I heard Rabi bin Bara bin Azib narrate from his father," and he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Rabi bin Bara, whom Ajli deemed reliable, and whom Ibn Hibban mentioned among the trustworthy narrators, and whom Tirmidhi graded as hasan when he said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith. Thawri narrated this hadith from Abu Ishaq, from Bara, without mentioning Rabi bin Bara in it, but the narration of Shubah is more sahih."
