Prompt your dying ones with "There is no god but Allah," for the soul of the believer departs gently like perspiration, while the soul of the disbeliever comes out from the side of his mouth the way the soul of a donkey leaves its body.
لقنوا موتاكم لا إله إلا الله، فإن نفس المؤمن تخرج رشحا، ونفس الكافر تخرج من شدقه كما تخرج نفس الحمار.
Tabarani reported it in Al-Kabir (10/233) from Abdan bin Ahmad, who said, Sulayman bin Ayub, the companion of Basri, told us, Hammad bin Zayd told us, from Asim, from Abu Waail, from Abdullah, and he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Asim, who is Ibn Abu Najud, for his hadith is hasan. Haythami also graded it hasan in Al-Majmu (2/323).
