Bukhari related it in Khalq Afal Abbad (117), Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah (358), and Hakim in Mustadrak (1/31), all of them by way of Marwan bin Muawiya, who said, "Abu Malik Ashjai narrated to us, from Rabi bin Harash, from Huzaifa," and he related it.Ibn Abu Asim also related it in Sunnah (357), as did Hakim, and from him Bayhaqi in Qada wal-Qadar (1/343–344), all of them by way of Fudayl bin Sulayman, from Abu Malik Ashjai, with the same wording.Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criteria of Muslim."I say, Fudayl bin Sulayman, who is Numayri, has been criticized by more than one scholar. He is among the narrators found in the collections of the community of scholars, but he is only truthful (saduq). However, he is corroborated by the first chain through Marwan bin Muawiya Fazari, who is trustworthy and distinguished, except that he used to obscure the names of his teachers (tadlis). The corroboration of some of them by others strengthens the hadith.
