Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

He spent the night at the home of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Prophet woke, cleaned his teeth, performed wudu, and was saying, "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day there are signs for those of understanding" [Al Imran 3:190]. He recited these verses until he completed the surah. Then he stood and prayed two units of prayer, lengthening the standing, the ruku, and the sujud in them. Then he finished, and slept until he was breathing heavily. He did this three times, six units of prayer in all, each time cleaning his teeth, performing wudu, and reciting these verses. Then he prayed three units as the final prayer of the night.The caller then gave the adhan, and he went out to the prayer saying, "Allah, place light in my heart, and light on my tongue. Place light in my hearing, and place light in my sight. Place light behind me, and light before me. Place light above me, and light below me. Allah, grant me light."

عن عبد الله بن عباس

أنه رقد عند رسول الله ﷺ فاستيقظ فتسوك وتوضأ وهو يقول: {إن في خلق السموات والأرض واختلاف اليل والنهار لآيات لأولي الألبب} [آل عمران: ١٩٠] فقرأ هؤلاء الآيات، حتى ختم السورة، ثم قام، فصلى ركعتين، فأطال فيهما القيام والركوع والسجود، ثم انصرف، فنام حتى نفخ، ثم فعل ذلك ثلاث مرات، ست ركعات، كل ذلك يستاك ويتوضأ ويقرأ هؤلاء الآيات، ثم أوتر بثلاث، فأذن المؤذن، فخرج إلى الصلاة وهو يقول: اللهم اجعل في قلبي نورا، وفي لساني نورا، واجعل في سمعي نورا، واجعل في بصري نورا، واجعل من خلفي نورا، ومن أمامي نورا، واجعل من فوقي نورا، ومن تحتي نورا، اللهم أعطني نورا.
