The Prophet ﷺ said, "The young children of the Muslims will be in Paradise, and Ibrahim will look after them."In another narration, "The children of the Muslims will be on a mountain in Paradise, cared for by Ibrahim and Sarah, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be handed over to their parents."
Imam Ahmad (8324) narrated it from Musa bin Dawud, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Thabit told us, from Ataa bin Qurrah, from Abdullah bin Damrah, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ, "as far as I know" (Musa was uncertain), and he said (then he related the hadith). Its chain is hasan due to the disagreement about Abdul-Rahman bin Thabit, who is Ibn Thawban Ansi. Nasai judged him daif, Ibn Main said he was lenient in reliability, while Abu Hatim and Ibn Hibban and others considered him reliable. Ibn Hibban (7446) and Hakim (2/370) both graded it sahih, and they both narrated it by this same route. The second narration was recorded by Bayhaqi in al-Qadaa wal-Qadar (8983) with another sahih chain from Abu Hurairah, and Bayhaqi indicated that it was also narrated through another route from Abu Hurairah as a raised report, so he may have been pointing to the first chain. The hadith has other chains as well, and this is the soundest of them.
