He said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man supplicating in his prayer without glorifying Allah and without sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This man has been hasty."Then he called him over and said to him, or to someone else, "When one of you prays, let him begin by glorifying his Lord and praising Him, then send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, and after that he may supplicate for whatever he wishes."
Reported by Abu Dawud (1481) and Tirmidhi (3477), both through the route of Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, who said, Haywa bin Shurayh narrated to us, Abu Hani Humayd bin Hani informed me, that Abu Ali Amr bin Malik Janabi informed him, that he heard Fadala bin Ubayd, and he mentioned the same. The wording is that of Abu Dawud. Its isnad is sahih.
