The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: البخيل الذي من ذكرت عنده فلم يصل علي.
Reported by Tirmidhi (3546), Ahmad (1736), and Nasai in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (55, 56). Ibn Hibban (909) and Hakim (1/549) graded it sahih, all of them through routes from Sulayman bin Bilal, from Umara bin Ghaziya, from Abdullah bin Ali bin Husayn bin Ali bin Abu Talib, from his father, from Husayn bin Ali bin Abu Talib, who narrated it.Its chain is hasan on account of Abdullah bin Ali bin Husayn, for he is hasan al-hadith. A group of narrators transmitted from him, and Ibn Hibban and Ibn Khalfun listed him among the trustworthy narrators.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith." In some copies it reads, "This is a hasan gharib hadith." Hakim said, "This is a hadith sahih in chain."There has been disagreement over its chain, and the statement of Sulayman bin Bilal is closer to being correct, as Daraqutni said in Al-Ilal (304).
