The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no one on earth who says, 'There is no god but Allah, Allah is the greatest, and there is no power nor strength except through Allah,' but that his sins are wiped away from him, even if they were like the foam of the sea."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما على الأرض أحد يقول: لا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله، إلا كفرت عنه خطاياه ولو كانت مثل زبد البحر.
Reported by Tirmidhi (3460), Nasai in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (124), and Hakim (1/503), all of them via Hatim bin Abu Saghira, from Abu Balaj, from Amr bin Maymun, from Abdullah bin Amr, who mentioned it as a raised report (marfu). Ahmad (6479) reported it with this same chain and added to it, "Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah."Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan gharib hadith. Shubah reported this hadith from Abu Balaj with this same chain, similarly, but without raising it (without marfu)."I say, this is what Tirmidhi (3460), Nasai in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (123), and Hakim (1/503) reported, all of them via Shubah, from Abu Balaj, from Amr bin Maymun, from Abdullah bin Amr, who mentioned it as a stopped report (mawquf).Hakim said, "The hadith of Hatim bin Abu Saghira is sahih according to the criterion of Muslim, for an addition from someone like him is acceptable."I say, it is as he said, except that Abu Balaj is Yahya bin Salim, or Ibn Abu Salim, whom Muslim did not narrate from. Only the four (Sunan compilers) narrated from him. And although Shubah is more reliable than Hatim bin Abu Saghira, Hatim is nevertheless trustworthy. Ibn Main deemed him trustworthy, Ahmad said, "Trustworthy, trustworthy," Abu Hatim said, "Trustworthy," and Nasai said, "Trustworthy." So when someone like him adds something, his addition is accepted. Its chain is hasan because of Abu Balaj, for there is disagreement about him, though his hadith is hasan as long as we find no objectionable element (nakarah) in its text.
