The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of Allah's servants on the Day of Resurrection will be those who praise Him abundantly. A group from my nation will continue to fight against the polytheists who oppose them, until they fight the Dajjal."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن أفضل عباد الله يوم القيامة الحمادون، ثم لا تزال طائفة من أمتي يقاتلون من ناوأهم من أهل الشرك حتى يقاتلون الدجال.
Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir (18/124) from Muhammad bin Hamuyah Jawhari Ahwazi, who said, Abu Yusuf Yaqub bin Ishaq Alawi told us, Bakr bin Yahya bin Zabban told us, Hassan bin Ibrahim told us, from Muhammad bin Abdullah, from Abdul-Rahman bin Mawriq, from Ibn Shakhir, from Imran bin Husayn, and he related it.Haythami said in Al-Majmu (10/95), "Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir, and it contains narrators I do not recognize."I say, perhaps he means by this the teacher of Tabarani, for his status is unknown, as Ibn Jawzi said. However, it is strengthened by what Imam Ahmad related (19895) from Ismail, Jareeri informed us, from Abu Ala bin Shakhir, from Mutarrif, who said, Imran said to me, "I am telling you a hadith today so that Allah may benefit you by it after today. Know that the best of Allah's servants on the Day of Resurrection are those who praise much, and know that a group from the people of Islam will never cease fighting for the truth, prevailing over those who oppose them, until they fight Dajjal..." the hadith.Except that it is stopped at the companion level, yet it carries the status of a raised hadith. This is a sahih chain. Ismail is Ibn Ulaya, and Jareeri is Saeed bin Iyas, and Ibn Ulaya's narration from him was before his confusion set in.The origin of the hadith is in Sahih Muslim, in the Book of Hajj (1226), from Zuhayr bin Harb, who said, Ismail bin Ibrahim (that is, Ibn Ulaya) told us, Jareeri told us it in brief, and he did not mention in it the merit of those who praise much, nor the victorious group. In summary, the statement "the best of Allah's servants on the Day of Resurrection are those who praise much" is hasan by the combination of its routes. As for his statement, "and know that a group will never cease...", it is sahih and firmly established.
