The Prophet ﷺ said, "I saw in a dream a black woman with disheveled hair leaving Madinah until she came to stand at Mahyaah, which is al-Juhfah. I interpreted this to mean that the plague of Madinah had been transferred there."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: رأيت كأن امرأة سوداء ثائرة الرأس خرجت من المدينة حتى قامت بمهيعة، - وهي الجحفة- فأولت أن وباء المدينة نقل إليها.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Dream Interpretation (7038, 7039, 7040) through Musa bin Uqba, from Salim bin Abdullah, from his father Abdullah bin Umar, and he mentioned it.His saying "Juhfah" with the jim vowelled with a dammah and the ha with a sukun, is a village located east of Rabigh, and it is the miqat for the people of Egypt and Syria. It is said that most of its inhabitants at that time were Jews, along with those Arab tribes allied with them, who were the people most hostile to Islam and the Muslims. So the Prophet ﷺ prayed against them. Even though the historians and biographers did not mention this, the absence of their mention does not necessitate their absence from history, and Ibn Hibban, Khattabi, and others have stated explicitly that they existed in Juhfah. And Allah, the Exalted, knows best.Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said, "In this hadith there is a sign among the signs of the prophethood of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, for Juhfah has been avoided since that day, and no one drinks from its water except that he develops a fever."
