We arrived in Medina when it was stricken with disease, and Abu Bakr fell ill, as did Bilal. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the suffering of his companions, he said, "O Allah, make Medina beloved to us as You made Mecca beloved, or even more so. Restore its health, bless us in its sa and its mudd, and transfer its fever to al-Juhfah."
قدمنا المدينة وهي وبيئة فاشتكى أبو بكر واشتكى بلال، فلما رأى رسول الله ﷺ شكوى أصحابه قال: اللهم حبب إلينا المدينة كما حببت مكة أو أشد وصححها، وبارك لنا صاعها ومدها وحول حماها إلى الجحفة.
