Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Makkah, "There is no migration after the conquest, but rather jihad and intention. So when you are called to march out, march out."He also said on the day of the conquest of Makkah, "Allah made this city sacred on the day He created the heavens and the earth, so it is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Fighting in it was never permitted for anyone before me, and it was made permissible for me only for a brief part of a day. It remains sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny shrubs are not to be cut, its game is not to be startled, lost property within it is not to be picked up except by one who will announce it, and its fresh grass is not to be uprooted."Abbas said, "Messenger of Allah, except for the idhkhir grass, for it is used by their blacksmiths and in their houses."He said, "Except for the idhkhir."
