The Prophet ﷺ said, "Islam began as something strange, and it will return to being strange as it began. It draws back between the two mosques as a snake draws back into its hole."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: إن الإسلام بدأ غريبا، وسيعود غريبا كما بدأ، وهو يأرز ما بين المسجدين، كما تأرز الحية في جحرها.
Muslim reported it in the Book of Faith (146-232) through various routes from Shababa bin Sawwar, who said, "Aasim (that is, the son of Muhammad Umari) narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn Umar," and he mentioned it.
