The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution and then prayed on the land of Saad, at the foot of the Harrah, near the houses of Suqya. Then he said, "O Allah, Ibrahim was Your friend, Your servant, and Your prophet, and he supplicated to You for the people of Mecca. I am Muhammad, Your servant, Your prophet, and Your messenger, and I supplicate to You for the people of Medina with the same supplication Ibrahim made to You for the people of Mecca. We ask You to bless them in their saa, their mudd, and their fruits. O Allah, make Medina beloved to us as You made Mecca beloved to us, and transfer whatever sickness is in it to Khumm. O Allah, I have declared sacred the area between its two lava fields, just as You declared the Sacred Precinct sacred upon the tongue of Ibrahim."
Ahmad narrated it (22630), and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (210), both through the route of Uthman bin Umar, who said, Ibn Abu Dhib informed us, from Saeed Maqburi, from Abdullah bin Abu Qatada, from Abu Qatada, and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Haythami said in al-Majma (3/304), "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih."As for his saying, "among the houses of Suqya," Suqya is a place in Madinah in the western lava field. And his saying, "and place whatever plague there is in Khumm," Khumm is known by the name "Ghurba" and lies east of Juhfa, at a distance of eight kilometers.
