I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The best of its women is Maryam, and the best of its women is Khadijah bint Khuwaylid."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: خير نسائها مريم، وخير نسائها خديجة بنت خويلد.
Bukhari narrated it in the Merits of the Ansar (3815) and Muslim in the Merits of the Companions (2430), both through Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, who said, "I heard Ali say," then he related it.His words, "the best of its women," appear in Sahih Muslim, where Abu Kurayb said that Waki pointed to the sky and the earth, meaning everyone between the sky and the earth among its women. Thus Waki clarified what the pronoun in "its women" was meant to refer to.
