When Hudhayfah was on his deathbed, having lived only forty nights after the killing of Uthman, someone said to him, "Abu Abdullah, this man has been killed," meaning Uthman, "what do you say about it?"He replied, "Since you insist, sit me up." So they propped him against a man's chest, and he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'I saw Abu al-Yaqzan upon the natural disposition. Abu al-Yaqzan is upon the natural disposition. He will not abandon it until he dies, or until old age makes him forget.'"
لما حضر حذيفة الموت، وإنما عاش بعد قتل عثمان أربعين ليلة، فقيل له: يا أبا عبد الله إن هذا الرجل قد قتل- يعني عثمان- فما ترى؟ قال: أما إذا أبيتم فأجلسوني، فأسندوه إلى صدر رجل ثم قال: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: رأيت أبو اليقظان على الفطرة، أبو اليقظان على الفطرة لن يدعها حتى يموت أو ينسيه الهرم.

Ibn Saad (3/262–263) and Bazzar (2945) both narrated it from Abdullah bin Musa, who said, "Saeed bin Aws Absi informed us, from Bilal bin Yahya Absi," who said, then he mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Bilal bin Yahya, for his hadith is hasan. The wording given is that of Ibn Saad, while Bazzar's wording is abridged.Abu Yaqzan is the kunya of Ammar bin Yasir.
