Ammar came in to see Ali, and Ali said, "Welcome to the good and purified one. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Ammar has been filled with faith to the very marrow of his bones.'"
دخل عمار على علي، فقال: مرحبا بالطيب المطيب، سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: ملئ عمار إيمانا إلى مشاشه.
Ibn Majah narrated it (147), Nasr bin Ali Jahdami narrated to us, he said, Utham bin Ali narrated to us, from Amash, from Abu Ishaq, from Hani bin Hani, and he mentioned the hadith. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (7076) and narrated it by the route of Utham bin Ali, and he mentioned the hadith.Hani bin Hani is the Hamdani, and no one narrated from him except Abu Ishaq. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat (5/509), and Nasai said, "There is no harm in him," but Ibn Madini declared him unknown. Harmalah reported from Shafii, who said, "Hani bin Hani is not known, and the people of knowledge in hadith attribute his hadith to the obscurity of his condition."I say, but he was corroborated, for Nasai narrated it (5007) by another route, from Amr bin Shurahbil, from a man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and he mentioned the hadith.As for Ali's statement to him, "Welcome, the pure and purified one," it has been narrated as marfu, reported by Tirmidhi (3789) and Ahmad (779), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (7075), and Hakim (3/388), all of them by routes from Hani bin Hani, from Ali. I did not find any corroborator for Hani bin Hani on his raising it to marfu status.
