The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Throne of the Most Merciful shook at the death of Saad bin Muaz."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: اهتز عرش الرحمن لموت سعد بن معاذ.
Bukhari narrated it in the Merits of the Ansar (3803), and Muslim in the Merits of the Companions (2466-124), both by way of Amash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, "I heard the Prophet ﷺ say," and then he mentioned it.In another wording, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, while the funeral bier of Saad bin Muaz was in front of them, 'The throne of the Merciful shook for it.'" Muslim narrated this (2466-123) through another route, from Abu Zubayr, that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say, and then he mentioned it.
