We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, and Amr bin As had gone to put on his clothes to catch up with me. While we were with him, the Prophet ﷺ said, "A cursed man is about to enter upon you."By Allah, I kept anxiously watching everyone coming in and going out until so-and-so entered, meaning Hakam.
كنا جلوسا عند النبي ﷺ، وقد ذهب عمرو بن العاص يلبس ثيابه ليلحقني، فقال ونحن عنده: ليدخلن عليكم رجل لعين فوالله ما زلت وجلا أتشوف داخلا وخارجا حتى دخل فلان يعني الحكم.
Ahmad (6520), Bazzar in Kashf Astar (1625), and Tabarani in Awsat (7155) all narrated it through the route of Abdullah bin Numayr, who said, Uthman bin Hakeem narrated to us, from Abu Umama bin Sahl bin Hunayf, from Abdullah bin Amr, who said, then he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Haythami said in Majma (5/241), "Ahmad, Bazzar, and Tabarani in Awsat narrated it, and the men of Ahmad's chain are the men of the Sahih."
