I went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during part of the day. He did not speak to me, nor did I speak to him, until he arrived at the market of Banu Qaynuqa. Then he turned back and came to the dwelling of Fatimah and said, "Is the little one here? Is the little one here?" meaning Hasan. We thought his mother was keeping him back to wash him and dress him in a necklace of beads. It was not long before he came running, and each of them embraced the other. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "O Allah, I love him, so love him, and love whoever loves him."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales (2122), and Muslim in the Merits of the Companions (2421-57), both of them through the route of Sufyan (that is, Ibn Uyayna), from Ubaydullah bin Abu Yazid, from Nafi bin Jubayr bin Mutim, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and then he mentioned it, and the wording given is that of Muslim.
