The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Who will guarantee me that he will not ask people for anything, and I will guarantee him Paradise?"Thawban said, "I will."So he never asked anyone for anything.
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من تكفل لي أن لا يسأل الناس شيئا وأتكفل له بالجنة. فقال ثوبان: أنا، فكان لا يسأل أحدا شيئا.
Abu Dawud (1643) narrated it from Ubaydullah bin Muaz, who said, our father narrated to us (that is, Muaz bin Muaz Anbari), who said, Shubah narrated to us, from Asim (Ahwal), from Abu Aliyah, from Thawban, and he mentioned it.Abu Aliyah is Rafi bin Mihran Riyahi, a reliable narrator, except that he frequently narrated with gaps in the chain, but he has corroborating support. He was corroborated by Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Muawiya, who narrated from Thawban, as found in Nasai (2590), Ibn Majah (1837), and Ahmad (22385).
