When the verse was revealed, "You who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet," up to His words, "while you perceive it not" [Hujurat 49:2], Thabit bin Qays said, "By Allah, I am the one who used to raise his voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I fear that I am among the people of the Fire."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Rather, he is among the people of Paradise."The narrator said, "We used to see him walking among us, a man from the people of Paradise," or words to that effect.
لما نزلت: {يأيها الذين ءامنوا لا ترفعوا أصواتكم فوق صوت النبي} إلى قوله: {وأنتم لا تشعرون} [الحجرات: ٢] قال: قال ثابت بن قيس: أنا والله الذي كنت أرفع صوتي عند رسول الله ﷺ، وأنا أخشى أن أكون من أهل النار، فقال النبي ﷺ: بل هو من أهل الجنة قال: فكنا نراه يمشي بين أظهرنا رجل من أهل الجنة، أو كما قال.
