Wathila bin Asqa reported,

He said, "I was among the People of the Suffah. I remember a time when not one of us had a complete garment, and the sweat ran down our skin in streaks mixed with dust and dirt. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said, 'Let the poor among the Emigrants rejoice.'At that moment a man approached wearing fine attire, and he kept forcing himself to speak in a way that would outdo the speech of the Prophet ﷺ. After the man left, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Allah does not love this man and his voice. There are people who twist their tongues just as a cow twists its tongue around pasture. In the same way, Allah Most High will twist their tongues and faces in the Fire.'"

عن واثلة بن الأسقع قال

قال: كنت في أصحاب الصفة فلقد رأيتنا، وما منا إنسان عليه ثوب تام، وأخذ العرق في جلودنا طرقا من الغبار والوسخ، إذ خرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ فقال: ليبشر فقراء المهاجرين. إذ أقبل رجل عليه شارة حسنة فجعل النبي ﷺ لا يتكلم بكلام إلا كلفته نفسه أن يأتي بكلام يعلو كلام النبي ﷺ، فلما انصرف قال: إن الله لا يحب هذا وصوته يلوون ألسنتهم كلي البقرة بلسانها المرعى كذلك يلوي الله تعالى ألسنتهم ووجوههم في النار.
