Naji said, I came to Medina and asked Allah to grant me a righteous companion to sit with, so He granted me Abu Hurayrah. I sat with him and said to him, "I asked Allah to grant me a righteous companion, and He blessed me with you."He asked, "Where are you from?"I replied, "I am from the people of Kufa. I have come seeking good and pursuing it."He said, "Is not Saad bin Malik among you, whose supplications are answered, and Ibn Masud, who carried the water for the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ purification and his sandals, and Hudhayfah, the keeper of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ secret, and Ammar, whom Allah granted refuge from Satan through the tongue of His Prophet, and Salman, the man of the two books?"Qatada said, "The two books are the Gospel and the Quran."
Tirmidhi (3811) narrated it from Jarrah bin Makhlad Basri, who said, Muaz bin Hisham told us, my father told me, from Qatada (that is, the son of Duama), from Khuthaym bin Abu Sabra, who said, and then he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Muaz bin Hisham Dastawai, for his narration is hasan.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith."
