The Prophet ﷺ said that Adam met Musa, and Musa said to him, "Are you Adam, the one whom Allah created with His own hand, before whom He made His angels prostrate, and whom He settled in Paradise, yet you did what you did?"Adam replied, "Are you Musa, the one whom Allah spoke to directly, whom He chose for His message, and to whom He sent down the Torah? Tell me, was I created before the decree, or was the decree before me?"Musa answered, "The decree came first."Adam said, "Then how can you blame me for something Allah had decreed before He created me?"So Adam prevailed in the argument over Musa. So Adam prevailed in the argument over Musa, peace be upon them both.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن قال حدثنا حماد عن عمار
عن النبي ﷺ قال لقي آدم موسى فقال أنت آدم الذي خلقك الله بيده وأسجد لك ملائكته وأسكنك الجنة ثم فعلت فقال أنت موسى الذي كلمك الله واصطفاك برسالته وأنزل عليك التوراة ثم أنا أقدم أم الذكر قال لا بل الذكر فحج آدم موسى فحج آدم موسى عليهما السلام
