Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ reported that a man set out to visit a brother of his in another village. Allah stationed an angel along his path, and when the man came upon him, the angel asked, "Where are you headed?"The man replied, "I am going to visit a brother of mine in this village."The angel asked, "Do you owe him some favor that you wish to repay?"The man answered, "No, I simply love him for the sake of Allah ."The angel said, "Then I am a messenger from Allah to you, telling you that Allah loves you just as you have loved him for His sake."

عن أبي هريرة

عن النبي ﷺ أن رجلا زار أخا له في قرية أخرى فأرصد الله على مدرجته ملكا فقال له أين تذهب قال أزور أخا لي في الله في قرية كذا وكذا قال هل له عليك من نعمة تربها قال لا ولكنني أحببته في الله عز وجل قال فإني رسول الله إليك أن الله قد أحبك كما أحببته فيه
