We had no food during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except the two black things, dates and water.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر قال حدثنا شعبة عن داود بن فراهيج قال سمعت
ما كان لنا على عهد رسول الله ﷺ طعام إلا الأسودان التمر والماء
Its isnad is sahih, Bukhari narrated it, 11/283, no. 6459, Fath, in Riqaq, "How Was the Livelihood of the Prophet ﷺ," and Muslim narrated something similar in Zuhd, 4/2283, no. 2975, and Tirmidhi, 5/448, no. 3356, who graded it hasan, from Zubayr, and Ibn Majah, 2/1388, no. 4145.
