He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Among the worst of people is the two-faced person, who comes to one group with one face and to another group with a different face."
حدثنا حجاج قال حدثنا ليث قال حدثني يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن عراك
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن من شرار الناس ذا الوجهين الذي يأتي هؤلاء بوجه وهؤلاء بوجه
Its isnad is sahih. Irak is Ibn Malik Ghifari, a trustworthy successor. The hadith is found among the leading scholars with similar wording, narrated by Bukhari 10/474 no. 6058 in Fath al-Bari, in the Book of Manners, chapter on what has been said about the two-faced person, and Muslim 4/2011 no. 2526, in the Book of Righteousness, chapter on the condemnation of the two-faced person, and Abu Dawud 4872, in a similar chapter, and Tirmidhi in the Book of Righteousness, chapter on what has been narrated about the two-faced person, 4/374 no. 2025, and Malik in the Book of Speech, chapter on what has been narrated about wasting wealth and about the two-faced person, 2/991.
