The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever does not abandon false speech, acting upon it, and ignorant behavior, Allah has no need for him to give up his food and drink."
حدثنا حجاج ويزيد قالا أخبرنا ابن أبي ذئب عن سعيد المقبري عن أبيه
عن النبي ﷺ من لم يدع قول الزور والعمل به والجهل فليس لله حاجة أن يدع طعامه وشرابه
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari related it, 3/33, in the Book of Manners, chapter on the saying of Allah Most High, "and avoid false speech" [Hajj 22:30], and Ibn Majah related it in the Book of Fasting, chapter on what has been said about backbiting, 1/539, no. 1689, both with his wording, and the hadith will come again at 10510.
