The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you find nothing but the resting places of sheep and the kneeling places of camels, pray in the resting places of sheep and do not pray in the kneeling places of camels."
حدثنا يزيد قال حدثنا هشام عن محمد
عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا لم تجدوا إلا مرابض الغنم ومعاطن الإبل فصلوا في مرابض الغنم ولا تصلوا في معاطن الإبل
Its isnad is sahih. Tirmidhi related it, 2/180, no. 348, and said, hasan sahih. Ibn Majah related it, 1/252, no. 768, in the chapter on prayer in the pens of sheep. Darimi related it likewise in the chapter on prayer, 1/375, no. 1391.As for his saying "marabid" (pens), these are the places where sheep spend the night, and they are also called "marabid." As for his saying "mawatin" (folds), these are the places where camels spend the night.
