He was asked whether a man may ride his sacrificial animal. He replied, "There is no harm in that. The Prophet ﷺ used to pass by some men walking and would order them to ride their sacrificial animals and the sacrificial animal of the Prophet ﷺ." He said, "You will not follow anything better than the Sunnah of your Prophet ﷺ."
حدثنا أسود بن عامر أنبأنا إسرائيل عن محمد بن عبيد الله عن أبيه عن عمه قال
وسئل يركب الرجل هديه فقال لا بأس به قد كان النبي ﷺ يمر بالرجال يمشون فيأمرهم يركبون هديه وهدي النبي ﷺ قال ولا تتبعون شيئا أفضل من سنة نبيكم ﷺ

Its isnad is daif, due to the weakness of Muhammad bin Ubaydullah bin Abu Rafi, discussed earlier at 588. His father, Ubaydullah, is well known, but I do not know who his uncle is. The hadith is found in Majma al-Zawaid 3:227. "The guidance of the Prophet" ﷺ is a substitute for "his guidance," to clarify the pronoun. In kh it reads "and the guidance," but the addition of the wa is an error. It also contains "and do not follow" in the imperative of prohibition, which is an error we corrected from k, h, and Majma al-Zawaid.
