Its chain is hasan. It contains Abu Jahhaf Dawud bin Abu Awf, whom some considered reliable while others criticized him for his shiism, and the rule requires that his narration be rejected when it agrees with his heretical view. However, the hadith was narrated by Bukhari 5/33 in the Book of Virtues, chapter on the virtues of Husayn and Husayn's brother, and by Muslim 4/1882 number 2422 in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions, chapter on the virtues of Husayn and Husayn's brother, and by Tirmidhi 5/661 number 3782 in the Book of Virtues, chapter on the virtues of Husayn and Husayn's brother, who said it is hasan sahih. Abu Hazim is Salman Ashjai, a well known reliable narrator.
