I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say from the pulpit, "The most poetic line the Arabs ever spoke is the saying of Labid bin Rabia, 'Truly, everything besides Allah is vain.'"
حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا شريك عن عبد الملك بن عمير عن أبي سلمة
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول على المنبر أشعر كلمة قالتها العرب قول لبيد بن ربيعة ألا كل شيء ما خلا الله باطل
