The Prophet ﷺ said, "Seven kinds of people will be sheltered by Allah under His shade on the Day when there will be no shade except His. A just ruler. A young person who grew up in the worship of Allah. A man whose heart is attached to the mosques. Two men who love each other for the sake of Allah , meeting and parting for that reason alone. A man who gives charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent. A man who remembers Allah in solitude and his eyes overflow with tears. And a man whom a woman of status and beauty invites to herself, but he replies, 'I fear Allah
.'"
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari related it in 1/168, in the chapter on the adhan, "one who sits waiting for prayer," and Muslim in the chapter on zakat, "the merit of concealing charity," and Tirmidhi in 4/598, number 2391, in the chapter on asceticism, "what has been said about love for the sake of Allah," and Nasai in 8/222, number 5380, and Ibn Khuzayma in 1/186, number 358, and Malik in 2/952, in the chapter on poetry, "what has been said about those who love one another."
