The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who fights in the way of Allah is like a person standing in prayer and fasting in his home, never slackening, until he returns with whatever spoils he gains, or Allah takes his soul and admits him into Paradise."
وبإسناده مثل المجاهد في سبيل الله عز وجل مثل القانت الصائم في بيته الذي لا يفتر حتى يرجع بما رجع من غنيمة أو يتوفاه الله فيدخله الجنة
[Shakir: 9613(B)] Its isnad is sahih. Muslim narrated it, 3/1498, no. 1878, in the book of leadership, the chapter on the merit of martyrdom in the cause of Allah, and Tirmidhi, 4/164, no. 1619, in jihad, the chapter on what has been said about the merit of jihad, and Ibn Majah, 2/921, no. 2754, and similarly Bukhari, 6/6, no. 2787 (Fath), and Malik, 2/443.
