My father passed by Abu Hurairah, who asked, "Ayn Tureed?"He replied, "To some sheep of mine."Abu Hurairah said, "Good. Wipe the mucus from their noses, keep their resting place clean, and pray beside their pen, for they are among the animals of Paradise. Take comfort in them, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that this is a land of little rain," meaning Madinah.

Its isnad is sahih. This is not a disparagement of Madinah, rather, if its rainfall is scarce while its blessing is abundant, there is a great mystery in that. This hadith is also supported by what Shafii related in his Musnad, page 82, from Ibn Masud, regarding Madinah being between the two eyes of the sky, one eye in Syria and one eye in Yemen, and it is the least rain-receiving land of Allah. It is found in Tartib al-Musnad, number 1852.
