The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever buys a sheep whose udder has been bound up to retain its milk and then returns it must return with it a saa of dates, not wheat."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It was mentioned previously at 2/386. His saying "no samra" means he meant wheat by it. The scholars said that wheat is permissible in a land where there are no dates, because the prohibition is restricted to that particular place, as is the intent of the Shariah in matters of this kind.
