Ubaydullah bin Abu Rafi reported,

Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah as his deputy over Madinah. On one occasion, when he had appointed him as deputy, Abu Hurayrah led the Friday prayer and recited Surah al-Jumuah and "When the hypocrites come to you" [Munafiqun 63:1].When he had finished, I walked alongside him and said, "Abu Hurayrah, you recited two surahs that Ali used to recite."He replied, "My beloved Abu Qasim ﷺ used to recite them."

حدثنا يحيى عن جعفر بن محمد قال حدثني أبي

عن عبيد الله بن أبي رافع وكان كاتبا لعلي قال

كان مروان يستخلف أبا هريرة على المدينة فاستخلفه مرة فصلى الجمعة فقرأ سورة الجمعة وإذا جاءك المنافقون فلما انصرف مشيت إلى جنبه فقلت أبا هريرة قرأت بسورتين قرأ بهما علي عليه السلام قال قرأ بهما حبي أبو القاسم ﷺ
