Ali adjured the people in the courtyard, saying, "Whoever heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ speak on the day of Ghadir Khumm, let him stand."Six men stood up from the side of Saeed, and six from the side of Zayd, and they testified that they heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say to Ali on the day of Ghadir Khumm, "Is Allah not nearer to the believers than themselves?"They replied, "Yes indeed."He said, "Allah, whoever's guardian I am, Ali is his guardian too. Allah, befriend whoever befriends him, and oppose whoever opposes him."This is the hadith of Abu Ishaq, that is, from Saeed and Zayd, and in it he added, "Support whoever supports him, and forsake whoever forsakes him."
