The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The likeness of the five daily prayers is that of a deep, flowing river at the door of one of you, in which he bathes five times every day."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن أبي سفيان
قال رسول الله ﷺ مثل الصلوات الخمس كمثل نهر جار غمر على باب أحدكم يغتسل منه كل يوم خمس مرات
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muslim narrated it, 1/463, no. 668, in the Book of Mosques, on walking to prayer erasing sins, and Ibn Abu Shayba, 2/389, in the Book of Prayers, on what expiates sins, both of them from Jabir. It was only placed among the hadiths of Abu Hurairah so that Abu Hurairah's chain could be linked to it and the addition made clear.
