A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have relatives whom I treat kindly while they cut me off. I am forbearing with them while they behave ignorantly toward me. I do good to them while they wrong me."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "If it is as you say, then it is as though you are feeding them hot ashes, and as long as you continue in this way, you will always have from Allah a supporter against them."
وبهذا الإسناد قال أتى رسول الله ﷺ رجل فقال يا رسول الله إن لي قرابة أصلهم ويقطعوني وأحلم عنهم فيجهلون علي وأحسن إليهم ويسيئون إلي فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن كان كما تقول لكأنما تسفهم المل ولا يزال معك من الله ظهير عليهم مادمت على ذلك
