Its isnad is sahih. Sabi bin Ashath Saluli, Dhahabi said, "He has objectionable narrations, and there is a tolerable weakness in him." Abu Hatim said, "A sheikh whose hadith is written down." Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat, and he has a biography entry in Lisan Mizan 3/182, but Hafiz did not give him an entry in Tajil, even though he fits its criteria. "Sabi" is in the diminutive form, as noted in Mushtabih 311. See what precedes it, which is number 909 in the abridged version."Likayma yamtarun" appears in manuscript ح as "tamtarun," while in manuscripts ك and هـ it appears as "yamtarun," so we adopted the latter. "Kay" is one of the particles that puts verbs into the subjunctive mood, but here the verb follows it in the indicative mood. This is a grammatical slip on the part of Abu Ishaq Sabi, and Abu Ishaq is not among those whose speech is cited as evidence in Arabic grammar, unlike the Companions and the early Successors.This hadith is among the additions of Abdullah bin Ahmad.
