Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah as governor over Madinah. Whenever he saw a man dragging his lower garment, he would stamp his foot and say, "The governor has come! The governor has come!" Then he would say, "Abu Qasim ﷺ said, 'Allah will not look at one who drags his lower garment out of arrogance.'"
