Jurayy reported that he came in to see Umar bin Khattab , who had with him a group of the earliest Emigrants. Umar sent for a chest that had been brought to him from a fortress in Iraq, and in it was a ring. One of his sons took the ring and put it in his mouth, but Umar snatched it from him. Then Umar
wept. Those present asked him, "Why do you weep? Allah has granted you victory, made you triumph over your enemy, and brought delight to your eye."Umar
replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Worldly riches are not opened up to any people without Allah
casting enmity and hatred among them until the Day of Resurrection,' and I fear that for us."
