The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man may utter a word that makes his companions laugh, and by it he plunges into a pit deeper than the distance to the Pleiades."
حدثنا علي بن إسحاق قال أخبرنا عبد الله أخبرنا الزبير بن سعيد فذكر حديثا عن صفوان بن سليم قال وحدث صفوان بن سليم أيضا عن عطاء بن يسار
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن الرجل ليتكلم بالكلمة يضحك بها جلساءه يهوي بها من أبعد من الثريا
Its isnad is hasan. Saeed bin Zubayr has been criticized by some, some considered him unknown, and others declared him daif, but Ibn Main affirmed his reliability in one of his statements, Abu Zura said, "A shaykh," Daraqutni said, "He may be considered as corroboration," and Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the reliable narrators, while Ibn Hajar deemed him somewhat weak. I have graded his hadith as hasan for what I have mentioned, and because of corroborating and supporting narrations. The hadith was narrated by Ibn Mubarak, 332, and by Abu Naeem in al-Hilyah, 3/164.
