When the Prophet ﷺ would set out on a journey and mount his riding animal, he would say, "O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Guardian over the family." The narrator said, I think he also said, "and the One who carries the load upon our backs. O Allah, accompany us with Your support and return us under Your protection. I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, the wearying difficulty of the road, and a sorrowful return."
حدثنا علي بن إسحاق أخبرنا عبد الله وعتاب قال حدثنا عبد الله قال أخبرنا شعبة عن فلان الخثعمي أنه سمع أبا زرعة يحدث
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا خرج سفرا فركب راحلته قال اللهم أنت الصاحب في السفر والخليفة في الأهل قال وأراه قال والحامل على الظهر اللهم اصحبنا بنصح واقلبنا بذمة أعوذ بك من ملح وعثاء السفر وكآبة المنقلب
